ASUPAN ZAT GIZI DAN AKTIVITAS FISIK DENGAN STATUS GIZI PADA CALON PENGANTIN WANITA DI KABUPATEN MAROS
NUTRIENT INTAKE, PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, AND NUTRITIONAL STATUS AMONG PREMARITAL WOMEN IN MAROS REGENCY
Abstract

Women’s health during the preconception period can be assessed through nutritional status, which serves as a crucial indicator because it influences pregnancy outcomes and infant health after birth. The study aimed to determine the correlation between nutrient intake (protein, energy, carbohydrates, fat, and iron) and physical activity levels with the nutritional status of preconception women in the working areas of the Bontoa, Lau, and Maros Baru Community Health Centers in Maros Regency. This study employed a cross-sectional design with a total sampling technique involving 32 respondents. Nutrient intake data were collected using a 2x24-hour food recall conducted over two consecutive days, while the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ). Data were analyzed using Spearman’s Correlation test. The results showed no significant correlation between protein intake (p=0.505), energy intake (p=0.673), carbohydrate intake (p=0.222), fat intake (p=0.523), iron intake (p=1.000), physical activity (p=0.332) and nutritional status. In conclusion, the nutritional status of preconception women was not directly influenced by nutrient intake or physical activity levels. This finding may be associated with other factors, such as irregular eating patterns related to pre-marital preparations.
